About the 2005 edition

Here we are to comment the third edition of the Genoa Mineral show.

This year the fair was organized at the beginning of June, just after the national day of the Italian republic, for the first time it was organized on two areas, with an increased number of exhibitors.

The organization has put a particular attention to the quality of the exhibitors, with some selectivity and very low quality or fakes were not admitted to the fair.  Speaking with organizer they are trying to maintain the show as a true mineral-show in which can find place every kind of mineral specimen, gems, handicraft with stones and minerals, and also fossils, shells and other thing but always with the respect of visitors and of the other exhibitors.  The equilibrium in the distribution between minerals and other material was about 40 % tables of mineral exhibitors, 35 % of tables of jewelery and 25 %of tables of other were present. pubblications, furniture, fossils, shells, etc.

Participation of public was good, in fact even if the holiday season  pushed many mineral collectors from Genova to go outside the city and miss the show, many enthusiastic collector from different region of Italy and Europe take the show in this nice city like an opportunity to have a short holiday here and contemporary have a visit to the show.  As usual in all the shows, collectors and people more interested to the mineral collection on Saturday and more curious people with interest in Jewelry and more trivial minerals on Sunday, when a lot of  public and tourists came to visit the fair,  attracted by the free entrance.
